MoGro Police Blotter: Driving Offenses; Rash of Retail Thefts

Officers arrested 11 people recently and logged 3 incidents in the village.

"Readers are reminded that an arrest by the police does not constitute a finding of guilt, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty," according to a statement from police Cmdr. Michael Fujara. All information comes directly from police reports.

Driving Offenses

Cesar Dottone, 21, of Niles, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license after police stopped him for traffic violations on April 29 at the corner of Central Avenue and Lake Street.

Anna Lasocka, 24, of Morton Grove, was charged with driving with a suspended license after police stopped her for traffic violations on April 29 at the corner of Dempster Street and Ottawa Avenue.

Luis Lozano, 39, of Chicago, was charged for driving without a valid driver’s license after police stopped him for traffic violations on April 29 at the corner of Central Avenue and Davis Street.

Ivan Perez-Suarez, 20, of Chicago, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license after police stopped him for traffic violations in the 7900 block of Caldwell Avenue on April 29.

Edith Martinez, 38, of Des Plaines, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license after police stopped her for traffic violations on April 30 at the corner of Oakton and Nagle avenues.

Robert Andino, 23, of Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended license after police stopped him for traffic violations at the corner of Dempster Street and Marmora Avenue on May 1.

Steven Gray, 32, of Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended license after police stopped him for traffic violations on May 1.

Retail Theft

Demetrius Nash, 44, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft after store security at Walgreens, 5730 Dempster St., watched him take deodorant and body lotions without paying for them on April 30.

Anthony Jones, 50, and Diane Lewis, 49, both of Chicago, were charged with retail theft after store security at Walgreens, 5730 Dempster St., watched them take diapers and detergent without paying for them on April 30.

Wieslaw Zoltko, 48, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft after store security at Menards, 6301 Oakton Ave., watched him take drill bits and gloves without paying for them on April 30.

Punch Thrown in Dispute

An argument resulted in a case of battery in the 9000 block of Waukegan Road on April 26 when a punch was thrown during the dispute. The victim chose not to sign complaints.

Gym Locker Theft

Credit cards and money were stolen from a man's wallet, which was inside at a gym locker at Bally Total Fitness, 6821 Dempster St., on April 26.

Car Vandalized

A car bumper was vandalized with spray paint on April 28 while the vehicle was parked at 8927 Marmora Ave.
