MoGro Police Blotter: iPod, GPS, Truck Taken

And a man was cited for taking 46 screws. Information is supplied by the Morton Grove Police Department. An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

 

Toney Zaya, 25, of Chicago was stopped in the 9200 block of Central on May 3 for traffic violations, police said, and charged with driving with a suspended license. Court date is scheduled for 6/14/12.

Emil Allyev, 20, of Glenview was stopped for traffic violations on May 2 in the 8700 block of Georgiana, police said, and was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and and driving with a suspended license.  Police said that during the course of the traffic stop, an odor of burnt cannabis could be smelled by the officer, and a search resulted in finding drug paraphernalia commonly used to inhale cannabis. Court date is scheduled for 6/11/12.

Derek Peoples, 28, of Chicago was stopped for traffic violations May 4 in the 8600 block of Austin, police said, and was charged with driving without having a valid license. Court date is scheduled for 5/25/12.

 Rodrigo Nava, 20, of Chicago was stopped for traffic violations  in the 5600 block of Dempster on May 7, police said, and found to be driving under the influence.

Tae K. Kyeong, 46, of Hanover Park was charged with obstruction and resistng May 9 in the 5700 block of Dempster. During the course of the investigation of a 911 call the subject interfered with the investigation, police said, and then resisted while he was being arrested for obstructing said investigation. Court date is scheduled for 6/14/12.

Shterna Notik, 52, of Riverwoods, was stopped for traffic violations May 8 in the 7200 block of Dempster, police said, and charged with driving on a suspended DL. 

Choon Quek, 38, of Chicago was cited May 8 under village ordinance for removing 46 dry wall screws from a package inside a store at 6301 Oakton and not paying for them, police said.  

Unknown offender(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway at his residence in the 8600 block of Ferris, on May 2, and removed cologne and a GPS unit. 

Unknown offender(s) entered the victim’s vehicle parked in the driveway at the residence in the 9000 block of Meade on May 2 and removed an iPod. 

Offender(s) stole the identity of a victim in Chicago and rented a Uhaul truck in the 9000 block of Waukegan Road.  The truck was not returned on the date it was promised, vehicle was entered as stolen on May 5. 

An unknown offender(s) accessed the computer system of a business in the 5600 block of Dempster and tampered with files in the system on May 4.  Victim does not wish to prosecute, so police made a record of the incident. 

Unknown offender(s) entered the victim’s locked locker at 6821 Dempster and took his wallet containing credit cards and cash on May 2. 

A victim in the 7900 block of Arcadia reported May 7 he was receiving phone calls from an ex-girlfriend after he had asked her to stop calling.  The alleged offender stated the victim has also been calling her recently.  No complaints were to be signed.
