MoGro Police Blotter: Sex Offender, Weapons

Raphael Hyung, 44, of Morton Grove was charged with a felony sex offender violation March 26 in the 8600 block of Georgiana after police responded to a report of a suspicious person. Police said when they arrived, they found he was living too close to a school. He was not required by law to register. 

Lanell Rice, 32, of Evanston, was charged with DUI and five counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon March 21 after he was stopped for a traffic violation in the 6300 block of Dempster. Police said he was in possession of two switchblades, a stun gun, a bludgeon and a throwing knife. His court date is May 8 in the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts.

Mohammed Khan, 22, of Chicago was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license March 26 in the 7000 block of Dempster after he was stopped for traffic violations. His court date is May 11.

Marina Tyler, 26, of Skokie, was charged with retail theft and cannabis March 26 in the 5900 block of Dempster. Police said she took cough medicine and tape without paying for them, and was in possession of cannabis. Her court date is May 9.

David Cho, 64, of Des Plaines was charged with DUI March 25 in the 8000 block of Golf Road after being stopped for traffic violations. His court date is May 8.

A 19-year-old and a 20-year-old male, both of Niles, were charged as minors in consumption of alcohol March 17 in the 5800 block of Dempster. The driver was also charged under the zero tolerance provision. 

A 19-year-old female was charged with theft after police said she admitted taking possession of a purse after someone else had left it on a park bench in the 8300 block of Marmora on March 19. 

A 20-year-old male from Niles was charged with possession of cannabis and paraphernalia on March 24 in the 8900 block of Sayre. His court date is May 8 in the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts. 

A Hyundai Tiburon was stolen March 28 in the 8900 block of Harms Road. It was parked on the street in front of the owner's home.
