MoGro Police Blotter: Slashing Tires, Driving Offenses and Aggravated Assault

Driving Offenses

Brittany McKay, 24, of Park Ridge was charged with a DUI after police stopped her for traffic violations on March 29 at the 7200 block of Dempster Street.

Maurice Taylor, 31, of Des Plaines was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license on March 30 at the corner of Dempster Street and National Avenue after police stopped him for traffic violations.

James Johnson, 66, of Chicago was charged with driving with a revoked driver’s license and possession of drug paraphernalia on April 2 on the 6000 block of Dempster Street after police stopped him for traffic violations.

Sean Bailey, 34, of Chicago was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license on April 2 at the corner of Church Street and Linder Avenue after police pulled him over for traffic violations.

Ronald Dennis, 30, of Des Plaines was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license on April 3 after police stopped him for traffic violations at the corner of Dempster Street and Shermer Road.

Enrique Solis, 44, of Chicago was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license on April 4 at the corner of Marmora Avenue and South Park Avenue after police stopped him for traffic violations.

Update: On Feb. 15, 2012, Judge Timothy Chambers cleared the DUI charge from Stacy Zeidman's record, according to Dorothy Brown, clerk of the circuit court of Cook County. 

Stacy Zeidman, 26, of Morton Grove (see update above; charge was cleared) was charged with a DUI .

Mario Baratti, 42, of Morton Grove was charged with a DUI on April 5 at the 8200 block of Austin Avenue after police stopped him for traffic violations.

Other charges

Javier Perez, 46, of Oak Park was charged with retail theft at 6301 Oakton Ave., where Menards is located, when store security found him taking headphones with paying for them on March 31.

Kevin Smentek, 19, of Morton Grove was charged with aggravated assault after allegedly threatening a victim with a kitchen knife at 7900 Lotus Ave. on April 2.

Known Unknowns

Unknown individual(s) took the catalytic converters from five vehicles on March 28 at 6200 Park Ave. 

Unknown individual(s) took a brick to someone’s car window and broke the glass on April 1 at 7800 Mango Ave.

Unknown individual(s) slashed the tires of a car at 9100 Newcastle Ave. on April 1.

Unknown individual(s) took money from a house on April 5 at 8300 Avalon Dr.

Unknown individual(s) took a cell phone from a victim’s locker on April 5 at 6800 Dempster St., where Bally Total Fitness is located. 

Unknown individual(s) spray painted a garage at 8100 Gross Point Road on April 5.
