Morton Grove Blotter: Hit and Run, Handgun, Cannabis

A hit and run driver got a flat tire and that stopped his attempt to flee. An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

ARRESTS

Eliseo Gomez, 52, of Chicago was involved in a traffic crash Sept. 19 in the 9000 block of Waukegan Road, according to police. He was later charged with driving on a suspended driver's license. Court date is scheduled for 10/10/12.

An 18-year-old Morton Grove man was stopped for traffic violations in the 8700 block of School on Sept. 20, police said, and charged with possession of cannabis, Hydrocodone, and Lorazepam. Court date is scheduled for 10/04/12.

Acting on a tip in a case of possession of a controlled substance, attempted unlawful sale or delivery of a firearm, police officers charged Nicholaos Ferentinos, 26, of Evanston, for attempting to sell a handgun unlawfully. He was found to be in possession of Hydrocodone, police said. The arrest took place Sept. 19 in the 5900 block of Crain. His court date is scheduled for 10/04/12.

Tumur Maintsogt, 34, of Skokie, was stopped for traffic violations Sept. 23 in the 7100 block of Dempster, police said, and was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license. Court date is scheduled for 10/24/12.

Christopher J. Wells Jr. of Chicago, age 24, was stopped for traffic violations Sept. 25 in the 7100 block of Dempster, police said, and was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license. Court date is scheduled for 12/04/12.

Brandon Hosch, 28, of Dolton, was stopped for traffic violations Sept. 22 in the 7100 block of Dempster, police said, and was charged with possession of cannabis. Court date is scheduled for 10/29/12.

MISCELLANEOUS

In a garage burglary case Sept. 19 in the 7500 block of Suffield, an unknown offender entered the unsecured service door of the complainant’s garage and attempted to take a generator and a gas can. The generator was left behind on the front lawn of a neighbor’s home.

In a theft from motor vehicle case Sept. 19, an unknown offender took tools from the complainant’s unlocked van while it was parked in his driveway.

In a garage burglary case, an unknown offender took tools from the complainant’s garage in the 7400 block of Churchill on Sept. 19. The offender entered through an open service door.

In a theft from motor vehicle case Sept. 20 at 6821 Dempster, an unknown offender broke a window of the complainant’s vehicle and took a purse, which was in plain view.

In a ruse burglary Sept. 21 in the 5900 block of Warren, an unknown offender pretended to be a worker performing tree removal. He convinced the elderly complainant to go to her back yard with him. While she was distracted, the offender’s partner entered the complainant’s home and took jewelry from the master bedroom.

In a criminal damage to vehicle case Sept. 23 in the 8400 block of Mason, an unknown offender scratched the complainant’s car and sprayed it with a yellow powder, possibly from a fire extinguisher.

In a theft case Sept. 24 in the 5700 block of Reba, an unknown offender took license plate registration stickers from two of the complainant’s vehicles while they were parked in the driveway.
