Morton Grove Crime: Meth, Pot, Trespassing

ARRESTS

Roberto Munoz, 43, of Chicago, was stopped for traffic violations Aug. 22, police said, and charged with driving without a driver's license. Court date is scheduled for 09/06/12.

Tiansheng Zhang, 27, of Evanston, was stopped for traffic violations Aug. 31, police said, and charged with driving on a suspended driver's license. Court date is scheduled for 09/19/12. 

Abid Shariff, 28, of Chicago was stopped for traffic violations Sept. 3, police said, and was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license. Court date is scheduled for 10/12/12.

Michael Khan, 26, of Chicago, was stopped for traffic violations Sept. 3, police said, and charged with driving under the influence. Court date is scheduled for 10/12/12.

Alex Gerstein, 26, of Wheeling was charged with criminal trespass to land and disorderly conduct after police said he trespassed on the victim’s property and shone a flashlight into the residence. Court date is scheduled for 09/19/12.

Nelson Tiu, 41, of Skokie was stopped for a traffic violation Sept. 2 in the 9000 block of Marmora, police said, and charged with possession of methamphetamine after being stopped for a traffic violation. Court date is scheduled for 10/04/12

MISCELLANEOUS

In a deceptive practice incident Sept. 5 in the 7400 block of Wilson, an unknown offender unsuccessfully attempted to use the victim’s credit card information to make purchases.

In a telephone threat case Sept. 4 in the 7800 block of Arcadia, the offender made threats to the victim via third party. Victim does not want to sign complaints.

In a criminal damage to property case Sept. 4 in the 9000 block of Belleforte, an unknown offender broke out a window at Hynes School overnight.

In a telephone harassment case Sept. 3 in the 9000 block of Austin, an offender called the victim an excessive number of times in reference to a civil dispute between the two. Victim did not wish to sign complaints. Offender was advised to resolve the civil issue via a lawyer.

In a criminal damage to property case Sept. 2 in the 9300 block of National, an unknown offender removed and smashed 3 coping stones from the retaining wall at National Park.

In a criminal trespass to land case in the 6800 block of Dempster Sept. 2, an offender was issued a local citation for returning to the business after being told to not return on a previous occasion.

In a theft from motor vehicle case Aug. 29 in the 8000 block of Long, an unknown offender stole a GPS and cash from the victim’s unlocked vehicle which was parked in the driveway.

In a criminal damage to vehicle case Aug. 29 in the 8600 block of Georgiana, an unknown offender scratched the victim’s vehicle on two separate occasions and left a threatening note on the windshield.
