Morton Grove Crime: Stolen Undies, Sockets, Gas

Many thefts, including one of outdoor Christmas decorations, occurred in the village last week. An arrest is merely an accusation and not evidence of a conviction.

 

ARRESTS

David E. Welker, 59, of Norridge was stopped for traffic violations  Nov. 15, police said, and charged with driving with a suspended driver's license. Court date is scheduled for 11/30/12

Jesus E. Arellano-Parra, 33, of Wheeling, was issued a village ordinance citation for theft Nov. 15 after police said he concealed men’s underwear in his jacket and exited the store without paying for the items. 

Samuel H. Kim, 28, of Des Plaines was charged with leaving the scene and failing to give information after police said he left the scene after being involved in a property damage collision at Dempster and Waukegan Nov. 16. Court date is scheduled for 01/03/13

Antonio Diaz, 33, of Chicago was charged with retail theft at a store in the 6300 block of Oakton Nov. 18 after police said he  concealed two Impact Sockets in the box of another item and exited the store without paying for the sockets. Court date is scheduled for 01/03/13

MISCELLANEOUS

In a theft of gas at a gas station in the 5600 block of Dempster on Nov. 15, an unknown offender pumped $50 worth of gasoline into her vehicle and drove off without paying. 

In a theft over $300 in the 9100 block of Newcastle on Nov. 16, unknown offender(s) used an unknown cutting tool to remove an air conditioning unit from a foreclosed property. 

In a criminal damage to property case Nov. 17, unknown offender(s) used an unknown tool to cut the victim’s Christmas decorations from a home in the 8500 block of Fernald. 

In an attempted burglary Nov. 18 in the 5900 block of Carol, unknown offender(s) used an unknown tool to attempt to burglarize the victim’s detached garage.

In an attempted burglary Nov. 20 in the 8700 block of School Street, unknown offender(s) attempted to make entry to a storage shed by breaking the door lock, but was unsuccessful.

In a suspicious incident in the 6000 block of South Park Nov. 20, unknown offender(s) stuck approximately 20 plastic knives and forks in the victim’s front lawn.
