Morton Grove Mosque to Buy Alleged Pellet Gun Shooter's Home

David Conrad has been charged with shooting the air rifle at the mosque during Ramadan services last year.

The Muslim Community Center in Morton Grove is purchasing the home of a man who police say fired a pellet gun at the mosque last year, the Morton Grove Champion reports.

David Conrad’s home is directly next to the Muslim Community Center at 8601 N. Menard Avenue. The chairman of the center confirmed to the newspaper that they will purchase the home for $344,000. What they will use the home for still remains unclear, but discussion has been raised about renting it out to new Muslims in the area, hosting overseas scholars or using it as administrative space.

Conrad, 51, was charged with Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm last August for firing a pellet gun at the mosque during Ramadan services. No injuries were reported from the incident. He has been under house arrest while his case goes through the court system.
