Morton Grove Police Earn Awards
See who won Officer of the Year, and the top awards for each shift.
At the Morton Grove Police Department's annual training in February, it distributed awards for 2012.

The awards were presented as follows:
Officer of the Year

Officer Dennis Johnson.
Officer Johnson won the award for the second year in a row.
Department Commendation

Officer Dan Warrensford
Officer Warrensford received his award for recovering a stolen auto and subsequently receiving a verbal confession for the stolen auto, and then linking the information he gained to additional unsolved crimes. His investigative interviews brought further admissions, which cleared five arson cases, multiple burglary/trespass to auto cases, and another stolen auto case. Officers Elliot, Johnson and Narcisa all received this award for applying life-saving techniques and saving a stricken citizen, according to a department statement.
