Regular patron caught stealing wallet

The owner of a restaurant in the 9000 block of Golf Road in Niles reported that her surveillance system captured footage March 19 of a regular customer going behind the bar when no one was looking and stealing the wallet out of her purse. The wallet contained $500, credit cards, her driver's license and a bank deposit box key.

After viewing the video, police and the business owner identified the offender as a Naperville man. They were able to determine his name and address.

Police told the restaurant owner to save the footage, which they planned to inventory.
