Niles Home Broken Into, Burglarized

Also, a father found a white powdery substance in his teen daughter's purse and wanted it analyzed. An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

 

A 38-year-old Niles woman called police Monday at about 10:45 a.m. to report her townhouse in the 7700 block of Nordica had been broken into and burglarized, according to police. They are investigating.

On Monday at about 6:25 p.m., a 45-year-old woman from Austin, Tx. reported that she placed her wallet on a table at the Golf Mill food court while she was eating, and forgot it there when she left. She returned, but it was gone, police said.

A 25-year-old woman parked her car at Golf Mill Shopping Center at about 11 a.m. Monday, and when she returned about 2 p.m., the Illinois temporary license plate was missing from her SUV, according to the report. Police entered it into the state theft database. 

Dad finds white powdery substance in daughter's purse

A 48-year-old Niles man found a small glass vial containing a white powdery substance in his 18-year-old daughter's purse, according to a police report. She would not tell him what it was, and he brought it to Niles police Monday for analysis and destruction. He does not want his daughter prosecuted if it tests positive for illicit substances. Police inventoried it for testing.
