Niles Police Aid Bust Of Burglary Ring

They participated in a multi-town task force.

Niles police participated in a task force whose work resulted in the capture of four men described as operating a sophisticated burglary ring. One of the four had earlier been charged with murder, according to the Chicago Tribune.

"We were involved in a lengthy investigation along with 13 other communities," said Commander Dennis McEnerney of the

Brian David, 37, of Mazon, Ill.; Louis Capuzi, 54, of the 700 block of North Rockwell Street in Chicago; Richard Green, 37, of the 2800 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue in Chicago; and Frank Obrochta, 46, of Melrose Park, were each charged with two counts of residential burglary. Obrachta also is facing a murder charge from an earlier incident.

McEnerney stressed that the communities, such as Niles, which participate in the multi-jurisdictional law enforcement task force are entitled to its services if they ever face a complex police case and need additional resources.

"It's a cooperative effort, and it's available to Niles or whoever requests it," he explained.
