Niles Police Promote Three Staff Members

The promotions fill vacancies left by retirements in 2012.

 

The Niles Police Department has announced the promotions of three staff members. They fill vacancies left by retirements last year. 

The department promoted Detective Thomas Fragassi and Detective George Alexopoulos to the rank of sergeant. Both will be assigned to the Patrol Division, after first undergoing a two month training assignment. They will serve on first watch.

Sergeant Fragassi and Sergeant Alexopoulos were promoted in a ceremony overseen by the Niles Fire and Police Commission at the Village Hall on January 21st in the Council Chambers at Village Hall.

The department also promoted Sergeant Michael Boba to the rank of Watch Commander, and he will be assigned to the third watch. Chief of Police Dean Strzelecki will conduct an internal promotion ceremony for Sergeant Boba.
