O'Sullivan Retires From Police Department

He rose to the rank of Watch Commander and received five commendations.

 

Joseph O'Sullivan retired as a Niles Police Department Commander after 23 years of service, and was honored by the Niles village board of trustees last month.

During his tenure, the village said, he rose from patrol officer to sergeant to patrol commander, receiving five Police Department commendations, five distinguished duty declarations, and several honorable mentions and letters of recognition from citizens and other law enforcement agencies.

Throughout his career, he actively participated in local community organizations and volunteered his services in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
