Police Blotter: Arrests for child endangerment and theft

The police department has provided the following reports. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

"Readers are reminded that an arrest by the police does not constitute a finding of guilt, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty," according to a statement from police Cmdr. Michael Fujara. All information comes directly from police reports.

Child endangerment

Alexander Epshteyn, 41, of Niles was arrested for child endangerment July 23 in the 7200 block of Dempster Street. The subject was allegedly removed a child from his vehicle and left him standing in the street during a family dispute.

Theft

Monika Biel-Prokop, 35, of Chicago was arrested for theft July 20 at 9232 Mason Ave. where she works as a cleaning lady. She allegedly stole the homeowner’s ring.

Driving without a license

Irmiya Iskov, 52, of Chicago was arrested for driving without a valid driver’s license after she was involved in a car crash July 26.

Driving while license suspended

 Sandy Fernandez, 25, of Chicago was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license after she was stopped for traffic violations July 21.

Elliot Delgado, 27, of Elmwood Park was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license after he was stopped for traffic violations July 27 in the 9100 block of Waukegan Road.

Retail theft

 Joseph D’Andrea, 88, of Chicago was arrested for retail theft July 23 at after he was seen leaving the store concealing a grinding stone, two sharpening bits, a flex coupling and a bushing.

Marcin Szpak, 41, of Des Plaines was arrested for retail theft July 24 at Loehmann’s after he was observed leaving the store concealing seven bottles of perfume.
