Police Blotter: Bike Nabbed, Women Fighting, Stolen Garage Opener

Illegal consumption

Glen Ellyn police said three underage women were arrested at 6:18 a.m. in the 300 block of Alder Lane. Joannie Y. Lopez, 19, of the 30W100 block of Maplewood Court in Warrenville, Erika M. Ballard, 20, of the 1500 block of Fender Road in Naperville and Liza M. Venegas, 19, of the 300 block of Alder Lane, were all charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and fighting.

Suspended license

Francisco J. Escamilla, 23, was arrested at 8:25 a.m. at Western and Pennsylvania avenues, police said. He was charged with driving with a suspended license and speeding.


Driving under the influence

Alexandra A. Rose, 25, of the 1200 block of Golfview Drive, Woodridge, was arrested at 2:20 a.m. at Roosevelt Road and Park Boulevard, police said. She was charged with driving under the influence and improper lane use.

Vehicle burglary

Police said someone broke into a locked vehicle parked in the Montclair parking lot between 6:15 a.m. and 5:36 p.m. A garage door opener was taken from inside the vehicle.



Someone reported a bicycle left unlocked in a rack at the Glen Ellyn Public Library, 400 Duane St., was stolen between 6:40 and 8:50 p.m., police said. The bike was valued at less than $500.

Criminal damage

A resident reported a driver’s side window of a vehicle parked on the street at Lorraine and Hill avenues was broken, police said. The incident took place sometime between 7:30 and 9:57 p.m. No items were taken from inside the vehicle.


Driving under the influence

Police said Oscar A. Rodriguez, 22, of the first block of North Main Street, was arrested at 12:17 a.m. at Roosevelt Road and Nicoll Way. He was charged with driving under the influence, uninsured motor vehicle, no driver’s license, improper lane use and failing to signal.

Thank you to the Glen Ellyn police, who recovered my daughters bike. It was found locked to a tree in Wheaton. The Glen Ellyn police delivered it to our door, safe and sound.
