Police Blotter: Burglary, Xbox Theft and a Nagging Neighbor

Recent incidents in the Morton Grove area.

"Readers are reminded that an arrest by the police does not constitute a finding of guilt, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty," according to a statement from police Cmdr. Michael Fujara. All information comes directly from police reports.

Aug. 11 

Nagging Neighbor: A woman at 9100 Oak Park Ave. was harassing her neighbor by calling police with made up complaints. Police told the woman that if she continued to call with unfounded complaints she could be issued citations for disorderly conduct.

Burglary: An Xbox video gaming system and accessories were stolen from a storage space at 6500 Oakton St.

Aug. 13

Criminal Damage to Vehicle: A vehicle was scratched at 7700 Church St.

 

Aug. 14 

Lost/Stolen Debit Card: A debt card that was lost or stolen was used to make a purchase.

 

Aug. 16 

Harassment over Telephone: Threats were made over the telephone after a dispute regarding work the offender had done at the victim’s home at 7900 Foster St.

Theft from Vehicle: A window was smashed to steal a cell phone and radar detector from a vehicle at 8900 Belleforte Ave.

 

Aug. 17 

Stolen Debit Card: A debit card was stolen and used to make multiple purchases.

Tire Slashing: A vehicle’s tire was slashed at 5400 Monroe St.

Really, Who Steals a Screw? A screw valued at 26 cents was stolen from a retail store at 6300 Oakton St.

Closing Time Assault: An employee at a gym located at 6800 Dempster St. was threatened by a member after they refused to leave at closing time.
