Police Blotter: Drunk Cab Passenger Gets Free Ride

The following information was supplied by the Morton Grove police department. If an arrest occurred, it does not indicate a conviction.

Dec. 21 
Attempted Theft - 
Offender called victim at her residence to state she had won some prizes. The victim stated she knew it was a scam and hung up the phone.  

Dec. 23 
Deceptive Practice: Credit Card Fraud - 
Unknown offender(s) asked the victim for her personal information through a fake PayPal email. The victim - believing it to be a real email - sent her personal information. The offender(s) used this information and made a fraudulent charge via PayPal.  

Dec. 23 
Theft Under $300 - 
Unknown offender(s) took the victim’s wallet after it was left in a shopping cart on the 7000 block of Golf.  

Dec. 24 
Deceptive Practice: Theft of Services - 
The victim, a taxi cab driver, was having trouble understanding the passenger in his vehicle due to intoxication. The passenger refused to pay the cab fare, however, the victim did not wish to sign complaints against the offender.
