Police Blotter: Gas Tank Surprise, Theft

The following information was supplied by the Morton Grove police department. If an arrest occurred, it does not indicate a conviction.

Jan. 4 
Theft from Motor Vehicle - 
Unknown offender(s) took the spare tire from the victim’s vehicle that was parked on the 6000 block of Hazel, according to the .

Jan. 4 
Criminal Damage to Property - 
Unknown offender(s) damaged victim’s fence on the 5000 block of Warren Court.

Jan. 5 
Criminal Damage to Vehicle - 
Unknown offender(s) slashed the tires on the victim’s vehicle on the 5000 block of Warren.

Jan. 6 
Theft from Motor Vehicle - 
Unknown offender(s) used a blunt tool to gain entry by force into the victim’s vehicle on the 8000 block of Menard. The unknown offender(s) then removed the vehicle’s radio.  

Jan. 11 
Criminal Damage – Vehicle - 
Unknown offender(s) poured a mixture of water and varnish into the victims gas tank on the 7000 block of Dempster.  

Jan. 8 
Theft - 
Unknown offender(s) broke the lock off the victim’s locker and removed personal property without consent of the victim on the 6000 block of Dempster.

Jan. 10 
Deceptive Practice – Fraud - 
Unknown offender(s) called the victim’s residence multiple times pretending to be a relative and stated they needed money to pay for an accident that occurred in Mexico. The offender(s) asked the victim to send the money via Western Union to Mexico. The victim, however, learned it was a scam and did not send the money via Western Union.
