Police Blotter: Hit and Run, Theft

Dec. 21 
DUI / Leaving the scene of an accident - Susan Shin, 47, of Glenview, was charged with striking another vehicle and driving away. She was stopped and arrested for DUI, according to the  Court date is scheduled for Jan. 13. 

Dec. 22 
No Valid DL - Eduarda Colama, 30, of Chicago, was stopped for traffic violations on the 8000 block of Waukegan and charged with driving without a driver’s license. Court date is scheduled for Feb. 8.

Possession of Cannabis - Istifan Istifan, 22, of Skokie, was stopped for traffic violations on the 5000 block of Church and charged with possession of cannabis. Court date is scheduled for Jan. 12. 

Dec. 28 
Theft - Joseph A. Portillo, 49, of Oak Brook, was charged with taking a victims property from a locker at Bally Total Fitness. Court date is scheduled for Jan. 12.

Dec. 31 
DUI - Sujey Rodriguez, 34, of Morton Grove, got her vehicle stuck on a curb on the 8500 block of Lehigh and was charged with DUI. Court date is scheduled for Feb. 24.

Theft by Deception - Czarmaine R. Candilo, 18, of Morton Grove, was charged with selling a cell phone that she found on the street. Court date is scheduled for Feb. 24.

Suspended DL - Michael Mann, 63, of Glenview, was stopped for traffic violations on the corner of Dempster and Washington and charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license. Court date is scheduled for Feb. 8.

DUI - Brandon L. Jones, 24, of Evanston, was stopped for traffic violations on the 7100 block of Dempster and charged with DUI. Court date is scheduled for Feb. 24.

Aggravated Battery / Resisting Arrest - Christopher A. Jones, 25, of Evanston, was charged with attacking officers on the 7100 block of Dempster as they were arresting a subject for DUI. Court date is scheduled for Jan. 12.

No Valid DL - Elias Mendoza, 18, of Niles, was stopped for traffic violations on the 7000 block of Golf and charged with driving without a driver’s license. Court date is scheduled for Jan. 18.

Retail Theft - Robert D. Kasperowicz, 48, of Lake Forest, was charged with taking several items and exiting a store on the 6300 block of Oakton without paying for them. Court date is scheduled for Jan. 17.

No Valid DL - Martin Durow-Valenzuela, 44, of Des Plaines, was stopped for traffic violations on the corner of Dempster and Athletic and charged with driving without a driver’s license. Court date is scheduled for Feb. 29.
