Evanston Police announced Friday morning that they have arrested and charged a suspect in the fatal shooting of Dajae Coleman, 14, last Saturday.
Police said they will announce the name of the suspect and the charges during a press conference at 1 p.m. Friday.
The Evanston Township High School freshman was shot four times at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, in the 1500 block of Church Street, as he was walking home with friends, according to police. Officers have not released any other details of the crime.
Friends and family say he was a good student who loved playing basketball and admired LeBron James. To everyone who knew him, he went by "Dae Dae."
“He was just a good kid," his basketball coach, Nibra White, told Patch.

There will be a wake from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m.
