Police Respond to Call, Stumble Onto Pot Party

Discovery made after an intoxicated man tried to enter the wrong condo unit.

After receiving a call that a man was trying to force his way into a residential unit, Niles police went to a condo building in the 6900 block of Wood River Drive just after midnight on May 21.

They found several people gathered outside two units. In talking to them, the officers concluded the man, who had fled the scene, was apparently intoxicated and tried to enter the wrong unit in an attempt to visit 20-year-old Michael Gabor.

As police talked to Gabor, they smelled the odor of burnt cannabis on his clothing and coming from inside his home. When asked if he had been smoking cannabis, Gabor replied. "Yes," according to the police report.
