She said he got angry inside motel room, according to the report. In another incident, a family wrestled with an 18-year-old who knocked over furniture and screamed and cursed at her family and police.

Police responded March 27 to a pharmacy parking lot in the 7100 block of Milwaukee Avenue for a call from a 20-year-old Rockford woman who was sitting in her car crying. She said she met a 29-year-old Evanston man two days ago and was hanging out with him and his brother in a room at the motel in the 7200 block of Waukegan Road.

The woman said the Evanston man started suddenly acting brutal and calling her foul names, then punched her five times on her face, pushed her down on the bed and slapped her, according to the report. Niles Fire Department paramedics offered treatment, but she refused it. Police said there were no signs of redness, bruising or swelling on the victim's face, and they arrived just minutes later.

Family wrestles with 18-year-old's behavior

A 53-year-old Niles man told police he and his 18-year-old daughter argued at their home in the afternoon of March 27 because he would not allow her to drink a beer in the house, according to the report. He said she started to scream at him and tipped over a kitchen table. When police arrived, they found the girl in the basement, and said she yelled and cursed at them, telling them to get out of her house. She refused to speak to police about the argument with her father, and left the home to stay with a friend for the night.

The 14-year-old sister corroborated what the father said, according to the report. The father said the 18-year-old breaks doors and appliances and has put holes in the home's walls. He said he and his wife have tried having her mental health evaluated at a hospital but she refuses treatment and medication, according to the report.

Police advised them how to obtain an order of protection and have her evicted from the home, supplied a copy of the Illinois Domestic Violence Act and filed a report.
