Road Rage Incident Ends With Disorderly Charge

Offender was mad because victim didn't turn.

Edyla Bania, 28, of North Olcott Street, Chicago, was charged with disorderly conduct after an incident in the 9100 block of Milwaukee, Niles, on April 23 at about 6:15 p.m. A victim, a 46-year-old Chicago woman, said she became upset because Bania didn't turn, and honked her horn. After both vehicles turned onto Golf Road, Bania threw a cup of tea in the victim's vehicle. Bania told police the victim exited her vehicle at Golf and Milwaukee and struck her (Bania's) vehicle with her hand. However, police didn't detect any marks on it, and issued Bania a village ordinance violation for disorderly conduct.

Couple Gets Harassing Phone Calls

A 53-year-old Niles woman told police she and her husband received harassing phone calls from the husband's 75-year-old mother, with whom they have had no contact for 20 years. Two weeks ago, the couple received three phone calls from the mother-in-law's phone number, and answered the third one; however, no one responded. On April 23, the couple received three more calls from that same phone number. When the phone rang again from that number, the husband picked it up and said, " I am filing a police report because you are harassing us," and hung up. The couple wanted the report as a matter of record.
