Son Hits Father's Face With Hammer
It happened after a dispute over whether the son would stay. An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

A 51-year-old Niles man told police he was asleep in his home April 5 just after 7 a.m. when his 30-year-old son, of Chicago, let himself in with his key, according to police reports. The father told the son to leave, and they began arguing. The son picked up a hammer and hit the father once, above the left eye, then fled, police said. Niles paramedics and police responded, and the father told them the son had taken the hammer with them. Police searched the area but did not find the son, according to the report. The father told police the son uses public transportation, is homeless and may try to go to his grandmother's house in Chicago. He said he will sign complaints; police are investigating.

A 21-year-old Des Plaines woman told police she had parked her car in the 7200 block of Crain on April 5, and at 6 a.m., she discovered the driver's side door had been opened and someone had rifled through her glove compartment and some of the contents had fallen out, according to the report. Her leather wallet, containing credit cards and her driver's license, was missing, and she said the cards had been used in Chicago. Niles police advised her to make a report on the use of the credit cards with Chicago police.
Driver charged with driving on suspended license after crash; 2 kids in car
Uuriintuya Ochirbat, 35, of Mount Prospect was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license after police reponded to a noontime crash April 7 in the 8600 block of Golf Road.
When police checked a database, they learned Ochirbat had a suspended license due to a prior DUI. They took her into custody, and turned over her two juvenile children, who were in the car, to her sister. Her court date is May 16 in the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts.
