Standing On Roof Pays Off In Niles Police Fundraiser

During Friday's "Cop on a Rooftop" fundraiser, Niles' finest raised a tidy sum for Special Olympics Illinois. They'll be out running Sunday morning in another fundraiser.

The Niles Police Department staff and volunteers raised $5,382 Friday during the "Cop on Top" fundraiser at the three Dunkin Donuts locations in Niles.

Police officers climbed onto the rooftops of the donut shops to attract attention during the event. The funds will go to Special Olympics Illinois.
Police will continue their fundraising events for the organization Sunday morning during the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Around 9:30 to 10 a.m., they'll run the torch eastbound on Dempster.

Police also do fundraising during the Polar Plunge event during the winter.

If you would like to donate, contact Sgt. Eric Lambrechts 847-588-6500.
