Stankowicz Retires From Niles Police

After 34 years of service, he was honored at a village board meeting Tuesday.

 

Niles Police Department Sergeant Robert T. Stankowicz has retired, and the Niles village board honored him at its Tuesday meeting for his 34 years of service.

Stankowicz served as an evidence technician, juvenile officer, investigator and supervisor of the Crime Scene Unit in the Patrol Division, the department said in a statement.

Throughout his career, he received many department commendations, distinguished duty declarations and honorable mentions, including numerous letters of recognition from citizens and other agencies, and actively participated in local community organizations.
