Teen Charged With Punching Security Agent

The security agent was trying to stop three teen girls she suspected of shoplifting, and one punched her. Arrest information is supplied by the Niles Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Tasharia Taylor, Kristina Bobo-Jackson and Andrea Morales, all 18 and all of the same Des Plaines address, were charged with retail theft Sunday, Jan. 15. A loss prevention agent at a Golf Mill Shopping Center store allegedly observed the three of them carry clothing into a fitting room, then exit without it. A check of the fitting room did not turn up the items, the agent told police, they said.

After the three offenders exited the store without paying, according to the police report, the loss prevention agent approached them and identified herself. According to police, Taylor faced the agent, with Bobo-Jackson and Morales behind her, and pushed the agent's body backward to prevent her from stopping Bobo-Jackson and Morales.

The agent felt threatened and pushed Taylor away from her to create distance, police said. In response, Taylor punched the agent on the right side of her face, near her eye, according to the report.
