Three Men Charged In Bar Fight, Refused To Cooperate With Police

Security guard could not tell what they were fighting about due to a language barrier.

Niles police responded to a fight in progress at a liquor establishment in the 8800 block of Milwaukee Avenue on Sunday at about 12:40 a.m. They saw several people with blood on their clothing.

The security guard said he observed the three offenders (who were charged) fighting with several unknown males, who fled before police arrived. The guard could not determine what the fight was about because the men were speaking in another language.

Police interviewed the offenders, who did not cooperate and would not say what the fight was about. One of them, Ankhbayar Namsrai, 32, of the 8800 block of Golf Road, Niles, obstructed an officer by pulling away from the officer and then pushing the officer. A female victim, a 42-year-old Highland Park woman, said Namsrai damaged the rear quarter panel of her car, a 2011 Toyola Corolla. She wanted to sign complaints for the damage. Namsrai complained of asthma problems, and Niles Fire Department paramedics arrived to treat him. He signed a waiver and refused to be transported to the hospital.

Police try to serve 'no stalking' order, man flees

Kedar Patel, 23, of the 8800 block of Washington, Niles, was charged with obstructing a police officer on Saturday at about 5 p.m. A Cook County Sheriff's Deputy had knocked on the door of his home and explained that he was serving him with a "no stalking" order. The deputy had come to the south door of Patel's residence, and Patel ran out the north door.

Niles officers arrived for backup and, after hearing a description of him on the radio, spotted him running eastbound from Washington Park toward 8945 Washington. Police ordered Patel to stop but he continued running eastbound to Wisner and then turned south. He eventually went into an alley and a sheriff's deputy took him into custody. A male witness, 35 years old, aproached officers on the street in front of Patel's home and identified himself as a private investigator assigned to keep Patel under surveillance as a result of a previous stalking case. The private investigator said he observed Patel running away from the deputy and the Niles police. Patel refused to make a statement to Niles police. His court date is Nov. 4 in the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts.
