Three Officers Join Niles Police Department

The three young men graduated the police academy and are in field training.

The Niles Police Department has three new officers--Officer Edward Beauvais, age 26, Officer Daniel Borkowski, age 22 and Officer Timothy Naleway, age 24.

The three graduated from 12 weeks of training at the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy at the College of Dupage. The training is required by state law.

They are now undergoing 14 weeks of field training with the Niles Police Department. A field training officer, who has received training in mentoring the recruits, will be teaching them. Once they have completed field training, they will be probationary police officers for two years, starting from the date they were hired.

“These young men are the top 3 candidates of those who went through a grueling testing process, which included physical agility, psychological testing and mental preparation to achieve the position of Police Officer. We are proud to have them in our ranks," said Niles Police Chief Dean Strzelecki.
