Top Headlines of the Past Week

We had it bad here this week--with heavy storms and flooding that closed schools and flooded basements, to a local school tragedy.

But we didn't have it as bad as people in Boston, who suffered the marathon bombings, in addition to being terrorized while they stayed shut in their homes all day Friday.

• Boston Marathon runner from Morton Grove was nearing finish line when bombs went off.
• Popular teacher at Notre Dame College Prep found dead; police revealed they had been investigating him, and medical examiner ruled it suicide.
• Train struck and killed a pedestrian in Des Plaines; a witness said it was a horrible accident and called for better safeguards. 
• Flooding crippled transportation throughout the area.
