Train Hits Man At Morton Grove Station

He was taken to the hospital for severe injuries.

A Metra train hit a person at the Morton Grove station at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Metra spokesperson Michael Gillis.

It's unclear whether the pedestrian was on the tracks before the train arrived in the station or whether he crawled onto the track after the train arrived, Gillis said.

The person's arm was nearly severed, and he was taken to a hospital for treatment.

As of early Saturday evening, Gillis did not have information on the person's identity, condition or the hospital to which he was taken.

Patch will update if more information becomes available.
