Two Homes Burglarized

Both incidents happened on Monroe Street. Arrest information is supplied by the Niles Police Department. An arrest is merely an accusation and does not indicate a conviction.

Two homes in the 8100 block of Monroe, Niles, were burglarized Friday March 30. In the first, the burglary took place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. In the second, the burglary took place between noon and 4 p.m. Police are investigating.

Dispute erupts after teen daughter returns home at 5 a.m.

On April 1 just after 6:30 a.m., police responded to a disturbance when a 50-year-old mother living in the 6900 block of Rosemary, Niles, said her 19-year-old daughter had been out all night and returned at 5 a.m. A verbal dispute erupted, and the mother said she wanted the daughter out of the house. The daughter agreed to leave. Police issued a domestic violence form.

Woman tells police boyfriend wouldn't let her leave

A 33-year-old Niles woman called police Sunday just after 11:30 p.m. to report her boyfriend would not let her or her children leave his home in the 8400 block of Dempster, Niles, police said. A police officer spoke to the woman's brother, who translated, and agreed to let the woman and her children stay at his home. Police issued a domestic violence form.
