Two Morton Grove Children Solicited For Sex; Man Charged

The 21-year-old Chicago man met them on Facebook and met in person with one of them, police said. An arrest is merely an accusation, not a conviction.

Aidan Lowry, 22, of the 5000 block of Berwyn Avenue, Chicago, was charged with solicitation of a minor after he solicited a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old through chat rooms, Facebook, texting and phone calls, Morton Grove police said.

One girl met Lowry in a chat room and then introduced the other girl to him through texting, said Morton Grove Police Commander Paul Yaras. Both girls thought he was 17.

He tried to set up meetings with the girls, and did meet with one of them at the library, where he solicited sex, Yaras said. He did not offer money, however, and no money was exchanged.

The matter came to light when one girl's mother found text messages which disturbed her, and alerted police.

Lowry had been sentenced to court supervision in 2010 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, an air rifle, the Chicago Tribune reported.
