Update: Phony Doctor Pleads Not Guilty
Skokie man used tooth picks to practice acupuncture.
A Skokie man pleaded not guilty before Judge Garritt Howard to two counts of practicing medicine without a license at a Niles medical clinic Thursday in the Skokie branch of Cook County Criminal Court.
for treating a patient April 23 while the facility was closed. Fleming allegedly stuck toothpicks in the patient’s chest as a form of acupuncture and gave him “Prosperous Farmer Dietary Supplement” with a 2002 expiration date.
Fleming has been indicted on two counts of violating the Illinois Medical Practice Act of 1987. These are Class 3 Felonies which carry a sentence between one and three years in prison. An assistant Cook County State’s Attorney began the process of providing required information to Fleming’s attorney, Robert Romanoff, according to Cook County State's Attorney Spokesman Andy Conklin.

Howard continued the case until 9:30 a.m. July 28 in the Skokie Branch of the Circuit Court of Cook County.
