Victim Believes Burglary Was Premeditated

Arrest information is supplied by the Niles Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

A 32-year-old man who lives in the 8800 block of Washington Street, Niles, reported that on Friday, he received a phone call from a 31-year-old man he knew asking for a ride home from the hospital, as the caller was going to be released from drug rehab.

The 32-year-old waited for the man who was going to be released until about 7 p.m., and upon returning home, he found someone had entered his home and taken his Xbox. The victim believes the other man staged the phone call and supposed hospital release in order to burglarize his home. Police are investigating.
