Waitress Serves Beer to 12-Year-Old During Police Sting
Cook County Sheriff's Office busts Maine Township bar, 4 others in underage liquor sales check.
While conducting a liquor compliance check in Maine, Wheeling and Leyden townships last week, the Cook County Sheriff's Office found Premier Billiards & Café, 2626 Golf Rd. in unincorporated Glenview, to be negligent after a waitress filled a beer order for a group of underage patrons, who included a 12-year-old, according to a news release.
The sheriff's office partnered with junior high and high school students for the sweep that targeted 18 restaurants, bars and liquor stores. Of the eight businesses visited in Maine and Wheeling townships, only Premier was found to be noncompliant.
In Leyden Township, 10 businesses were a part of the sweep, with four found in violation. They are:

- Ozzie’s Food Store, 1158 W. Grand Ave.
- Tequilaz Bar and Grill, 11220 W. Grand Ave.
The sheriff's office said they will continue the operation throughout suburban Cook County. The fine for businesses that are first-time offenders is generally $500.
