Wife, 89, Falls After Man, 90, Pushes Her, Police Say
An arrest is merely an accusation and not evidence of a conviction.
An 89-year-old Niles woman, of the 7600 block of Odell, reported Nov. 12 just before 9 a.m. that her husband, 90, pushed her and that she fell and was unable to get up, police said. She was in pain, and the Niles Fire Department took her to the hospital.
The husband said his wife was helping him with his suspenders when she fell on her own, the report indicated. Their daughter said her father had been diagnosed with prostate cancer and had suffered two strokes. Police contacted Northshore Senior Services, which will begin an investigation into the living conditions in the home in the interest of safety. Police issued a domestic violence form and forwarded a report to Niles Family Services.

Police said they could small alcohol on her breath, the report indicated, and she told them she did not have a valid driver's license. When asked if she had consumed alcohol, she said she had two glasses of beer at a friend's house, then changed it to three "very large" glasses of wine, police said.
Police said Bulgankhuu started flipping through a pile of papers to find her insurance card, but got frustrated and handed the whole stack to the officer, the report said. Police said she showed signs of impairment on field sobriety tests.
