The incident happened at a restaurant.

At a restaurant/bar in the 6700 block of Howard Street, Niles, on Thursday, a 45-year-old Chicago woman approached a 34-year-old female who works at the establishment, began yelling at her and struck her in the back with an open hand.

As other employees began leading the angry woman away, she threw a glass bottle on the ground and it shattered. The employees took her to the parking lot and told her to leave.

The victim, who declined to press charges, said the angry woman believes that she, the victim, is having an affair with the woman's husband.

$4,200 worth of cigarettes taken

After a 58-year-old Lincolnwood man purchased $4,200 worth of cigarettes in a warehouse store in the 7300 block of Melvina, Niles, for resale at his store, he placed them in his vehicle and walked to the cart corral to return his cart. A woman in her 40s struck up a conversation with him, which he later realized was likely an attempt to delay him from getting back to his vehicle. He drove back to his business before he realized the cigarettes were missing. The incident happened July 14 at about 1:45 pm.
