Woman Charged With Theft: Paid For Only Some Items At Niles Store

And in another incident, a man attempted to walk out of a store wearing jeans and a belt under his own jeans and belt. An arrest is merely an accusation and not evidence of a conviction.

Natasha Wood, 30, of Round Lake Park was charged with retail theft March 29 after an incident at a store in the 8500 block of Golf Road. A security agent said he saw her go to exchange some items while she had store bags in her shopping cart, according to the police report. She selected other merchandise from store displays and put it under the shopping bags in her cart, went to the self check-out and paid for some items, leaving the others concealed under the shopping bags, the report indicated. Then she left the store without paying for $174 worth of merchandise, police said. Her court date is April 28 in the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts.

Esad Hadziahmetovic, 56, of Des Plaines, was charged with retail theft March 31 after an incident at a Golf Mill Shopping Center store. According to the police report, he selected a pair of pliers from the hardware section of the store, then tried on several men's clothing items in the fitting room. Security agents said they thought he came out with fewer items than those he entered with; they checked the fitting room after he left and found clothing and security tags which had been cut off. Hadziahmetovic exited through the Greenwood Avenue side doors, without paying for the pliers, according to police. Security agents detained him and recovered the pliers. When police arrived, they did a pat-down and discovered Hadziahmetovic was wearing jeans and a belt under his own jeans and belt. The security agent said he found tags for the Levis 514 jeans and the belt on the fitting room floor, according to the report. A register receipt indicated the value of items taken was $170.95 before taxes. His court date is April 25 in the Skokie courthouse.
