Woman Claims Ex-Husband Climbed Through Window To Enter Home

The ex-husband said he has a key and lives there; woman says he is not allowed in the home due to a domestic battery investigation against her daughter.

A 38-year-old Niles woman reported Oct. 22, at about 5 p.m., that she caught her ex-husband climbing into the living room window of her townhome, in the 8800 block of Washington. She said an argument began and that he is not allowed in the home due to a domestic battery investigation against her daughter.

The woman told police the ex shoved her in the chest; the officers did not see signs of injury. She does not have an order of protection against him.

The ex-husband told police he lives at the home, has a key and receives mail there. He told police he had left the home around 8:20 that morning to go to work. When he returned around 5 p.m., he used his key to enter the front door. He said he argued with his ex-wife at that time because he wanted to gather his things and leave, and she didn't want him to. He said he has been living there on and off for the past year. Police issued a domestic violence form and the offender left for the evening.
