Woman Found Dead In Bathtub

Police didn't find signs of trauma.

Cynthia Olive, 50, of the 7500 block of Waukegan Road, Niles, was found dead Thursday after a co-worker called police to check on her well-being, since she had not reported to work.

Police asked a man who was the designated key holder to her home to unlock the door, which he did at about 6:15 p.m. Police found the apartment clean and mostly empty of furniture. They called out, identifying themselves as police, but received no response. They checked both bedrooms and had to pick the lock of the bathroom door. They found her in the bathtub lifeless. A pair of reading glasses were on the floor in front of the sink, and police did not observe any signs of trauma.

Niles Fire Department personnel responded, and Dr. Greene of Lutheran General Hospital pronounced her dead. Niles police advised the Cook County medical examiner and contacted Ms. Olive's brother.
