Woman Intrudes In Home, Screams About Divorce

A 16-year-old in the home did not know who she was and called police, according to the report. An arrest is merely an accusation and not evidence of a conviction.

In a domestic dispute on Oct. 6, police said a 44-year-old Niles man who lives in the 7900 block of Oconto reported that his second wife pushed her way into his home at about 12:45 p.m. and began screaming inside the house, police said. The man's 16-year-old son, who said he did not know her, called 911 after speaking to his father on the telephone. According to police, the second wife said she came to speak to her mother-in-law regarding her relationship because she did not want a divorce. The woman was asked to leave, and police issued domestic violence forms to all parties.

Man asleep at the wheel, charged with DUI

Ryan K. Lewis, 28, of Chesterton, Ind. was charged with DUI Oct. 5 just before 1 a.m. when police said they found him sleeping behind the wheel of his vehicle, with the vehicle running, in the 8100 block of Elmore. Police opened the driver's side door and after several commands, Lewis woke up. Police said he had an odor of alcohol on his breath and slurred speech, had difficulty understanding what officers were asking him and gave some answers unrelated to the questions he was asked. He showed impairment on field sobriety tests and was cited for no proof of insurance and failure to wear a seatbelt. His court date is Nov. 6 in the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts.
