Man Charged With Battery For Swatting Co-Worker, Police Say

An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

The following information is taken from Niles Police Department reports.

Joanne Georgakakis, 39, of West Summerdale Avenue, Chicago, was charged with retail theft after police responded to a retail store in the 5600 block of Touhy on Jan. 4 just after 7:35 p.m. A security guard told police she selected several bra and panty sets and concealed parts of them in her purse, according to the report. The security agent said Georgakakis paid for one set and concealed another set, then left the store without paying for nine items, the report said.

Her court date is Jan. 23 in the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts.

Nicholas Daniels, 22, of West Margate Terrace, Chicago, was charged with battery after an incident in the break room of his workplace in the 6300 block of Touhy. A 16-year-old juvenile girl was sitting at a desk in the break room, and there was a toy electric airplane on the desk. She started to turn the propellers, according to the police report, and Daniels told her she shouldn't touch other people's stuff and smacked her on the forearm.
