Woman Receives Harassing Phone Calls

Caller asks for her husband.

 

A 31-year-old woman who lives on Nordica Street, Niles, reported she had received a telephone call from a man, possibly Assyrian, who was looking for her husband. The caller cursed at the victim several times and hung up. He made repeated calls, and the victim asked for a police follow-up. The calls occurred from Sept. 19 to 26.

A 24-year-old man who lives on Niles Avenue, Niles, called police saying his father, 57, was forcing him to go to work in the family store, even though the son didn't want to go for health reasons. The son will stay with his uncle. Police issued a domestic violence form, but both parties refused a referral to Niles Family Services.

Ex-Boyfriend Keeps Texting

A 51-year-old Niles woman on Madison Street told police on Sept. 26 that her ex-boyfriend, 46, has been sending her text messages and calling her. Police contacted the man and told him to leave the victim alone and that she didn't want to have any contact with him.
