Woman's Nose Broken in Beating By Male 'Friend,' Police Say
An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

ARRESTS
Batbaatar Gotov, 41, of Chicago, was stopped for traffic violations Dec. 29 in the 6300 block of Dempster, police said, and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Court date is scheduled for 01/21/14.

Jermaine R. Gibbs, 36, of Wheeling was stopped Dec. 30 for traffic violations in the 9400 block of Washington police said, and charged with driving with a revoked driver’s license. Court date is scheduled for 02/25/14.

MISCELLANEOUS
Theft
Two unidentified subjects entered the store in the 5900 block of Lincoln Dec. 10 and while one of them distracted the cashier with a return, the other stole multiple instant lottery tickets from behind the counter.
Battery
In a Dec. 13 battery case, the victim reported that she had been beaten by a male friend days earlier but was too frightened to call the police in case of retaliation. She had a broken nose from the incident.
Burglary
Two unidentified subjects broke the front door of the victim’s home in the 9200 block of Normandy Dec. 18 in an attempt to gain entry, but left when they heard the victim yelling.
Criminal Damage
A road rage incident Dec. 20 at Dempster and Moody between two subjects evolved into a confrontation in which one subject kicked another subject’s vehicle, the complainant did not want the offender arrested.
Aggravated Battery
A playful slap game Dec. 20 between two coworkers at 9003 Waukegan Road resulted in one punching the other one in the face with enough force to send him to the hospital. After an initial investigation, neither party wanted to press charges.
Burglary
A Kenmore freezer and metal shelving units were stolen from a garage of a home in the 6500 block of Albert Dec. 22. When the victim returned home the garage door was open and he was adamant that he closed it earlier, there were no signs of forced entry. There are no suspects at this time.
Theft
All four hubcaps were stolen from a vehicle parked in the lot at 8630 Waukegan Road on Dec. 22; however no offender information was available.
Harassment through Electronic Communications
The victim, of the 5700 block of Warren, was receiving calls Dec. 23 from an ex-girlfriend of his from the 1990’s. The subject was making bizarre claims and demanding money owed to her from when they were dating. Police made contact with the ex-girlfriend and she apologized. The victim did not want to press charges at this time.
Identity Theft
The victim was told Dec. 24 by his phone company that someone made a claim for a damaged device. The victim had no knowledge of the claim and had is cancelled.
Criminal Damage to Vehicle
An unidentified offender used a blunt object to break the driver’s side window of the victim’s vehicle Dec. 24 while it was parked on the street overnight in the 8600 block of Fernald.
