Young Widow Harassed By Text Messages

Also, two people were charged with DUI. An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

Information is taken from Niles Police Department reports

Officers responded Nov. 2 to the home of a 34-year-old Niles woman, who said that on Nov. 1, she had received a text from a 36-year-old Elk Grove Village woman, a friend of the Niles woman's late husband. The text attacked the victim's character.

Also, the victim said that while she had been visiting the cemetery in Des Plaines on Nov. 1, the harasser had driven by and sworn at her. Niles police advised the victim to contact Des Plaines police for that matter; for the Niles matter, an officer phoned the offender and left a message instructing her not to contact the widow/victim again. The offender called back and said she didn't think she was harassing the victim, but agreed not to contact her further.
