How to Appeal Your Property Taxes

This event is being offered to taxpayers seeking relief on an unfair or inaccurate property tax assessment at a time when the economy is putting added pressures on home and business owners.

The hour-long seminar includes a presentation by Commissioner Patlak that explains how property taxes are calculated and the appeal procedure of the Board of Review. The event will end with a question and answer session followed by an opportunity for taxpayers to work with analysts from Commissioner Patlak’s staff to address their concerns and to receive assistance filing an appeal.

The event is free to the public and there is no fee to appeal. Taxpayers are asked to bring a copy of their most recent tax bill.
