Former Morton Grove Mayor Seeks Public Office Again

Dan Staackmann seeks an empty spot on the Morton Grove Park Board.

The former Mayor of Morton Grove is looking to make a political comeback, the Morton Grove Champion reports.

Dan Staackmann has applied for an empty seat on the Morton Grove Park Board, the newspaper reports. Staackmann was the mayor of the village for four years, and was beat by current mayor Dan DiMaria in the February primary election

He’s no stranger to the park board, as he served 16 years there before becoming mayor of Morton Grove in 2009.  A decision will be made as to who gets the empty park board seat before Aug. 15.
