To use the card, present it to a pharmacist who can then determine your savings on prescriptions. Savings can be as much as 65 percent, depending on the generic and brand-name drug, according to the township.
While Niles Township started the program to help people without prescription drug insurance, those who have insurance may use the card. However, only one card may be used when filling a prescription.

The card, administered through a program called Coast2Coast Rx, can also be used to get reduced fees for lab procedures, such as blood work and MRI images, if your doctor orders them.
Because Medicare has a gap in coverage commonly known as the "donut hole," participants who are affected by the gap may use the township's card.
The card can also be used to fill pet prescriptions.
